My name is Lorem. I'm 28 years old and I'm just trying to get back on my feet with school. I have spent a majority of the last few years being a caregiver for my parents. I was attending Marshall University back in 2007, but my dad ended up having complications after his open heart surgery. I ended up having to move back home and to help my mom out with my dad. A few years later, my mom ends up getting sick and it just seemed to get worse. My dad as well ended up sick again with kidney failure. I spent the last two years being there every day with my mom making every moment count. I ended up taking care of her 24/7 before she passed away last year. Now that things have settled down a bit, I figured it was my time to do something.
I tried many times to get back into school. Throughout all that happened, I was able to take some classes at SWVCTC. I started out in nursing after graduating high school, but I felt I wasn't confident enough to do it. I'd like to stray away from the medical field for now, but at the same time I feel that being a nurse would have fit me well after taking care of my mom. I just wanted something different, something that is part of our everyday lives. I've decided with Information Technology, which has always kept me curious on how a computer works, how it connects us to the world, and how it has become an important asset with society today as a growing industry. I hope in time I will be able to grasp everything that I have learned finishing within this field and even more so advance into it.
My hobbies: Crocheting, painting, photography, making handmade jewelry, video games, traveling, reading, etc.
